A Challenging Stay

I encountered significant issues during check-in, including unexpected deposit demands, which left me waiting outside in the cold. Despite the challenges, the self-catering facilities were a useful feature.

the self check-in was super easy and the room felt really cosy. the bed was comfy and i slept like a baby for over 10 hours. loved the tea/coffee setup, and the location was perfect for walkin to the city center and reservoir. you get what you pay for, which is nice. overall, it was a great stay.

the heating didn't work so it was a bit chilly at night and there was no shampoo or shower gel in the bathroom.

the mattress was ancient, clearly designed for people who enjoy back pain. also, the dust on the bed frame could've made a fine art exhibit. i almost thought about leaving a positive review, but didn't receive a bouquet of flowers upon arrival like i, you know, deserved.

The bed provided great comfort, which allowed me to sleep well. the noise from the creaky floors was disruptive.

Good shared house experience

I was in Birmingham for a short visit, aiming to explore the Museum of the Jewellery Quarter and the Gas Hall Exhibition Gallery. The ability to cook my own meals was a plus, which came in handy during my week-long stay. the shared bathroom situation wasn't ideal, especially on busy mornings, and the creaky floors were a bit annoying. I appreciated the convenience of being close to several attractions, but I wouldn't recommend staying here for long periods if you're looking for peace and quiet.
